In this episode, Kevin and Robb speak to Brad Divens, master FOH (front of house) engineer who has worked live shows for artists ranging from Linkin Park, Bob Seger, Enrique Iglesias, and many more.
Divens dishes on his beginnings in music as a guitarist and eventual transition into engineering and mixing, which came about when Divens agreed to mix a live show even though he had never done it on a professional level. “I felt like I could do it, but I’d never done it,” he said. “I was terrified, but I jumped right in.”
Needless to say, this ‘sink or swim’ approach worked out for Divens quite well. He talks to the guys about his studio, named after his company, FixinToGetMixin, as well as a series of classes he teaches under the same banner. Divens addresses the impact of COVID-19 on his business and his love of hot sauce.
