Acoustical treatment is a smart long-term investment for anyone serious about audio—whether for music production, podcasting, broadcasting, home theaters, or even conference rooms. Here’s why:
Acoustical treatment helps create a more accurate listening environment by reducing unwanted reflections, echoes, and standing waves. This leads to:
- Clearer recordings
- More precise mixing/mastering
- Better intelligibility for speech and dialogue
You're not just treating the room—you’re enhancing every piece of audio work that goes through it.
Protect Your Investment - How to clean Auralex Studiofoam® and ProPanels™
Auralex Studiofoam® cleaning Tips and Instructions:
Cleaning Dusty Studiofoam
- Light vacuuming of Studiofoam with an upholstery or drapery attachment will remove
accumulated dust and is also suggested for preventative maintenance.
Cleaning Soiled Studiofoam
- Avoid the use of harsh chemicals such as Bleach, alcohol or other solvents.
- Use a mild detergent, intended for handwashing delicate clothing, diluted with water.
- Gently rub the affected area, do not saturate the foam.
- Use a dry paper towel or cloth to blot up the excess moisture and let it air dry.
ProPanel™ & CFS™ installations utilize the fabric lines of several manufacturers, which are typically constructed from 100% recycled polyester fiber. This enables easy cleaning and the ability to keep the fabric looking new for a long period of time.
They are colorfast to common wet and dry-cleaning procedures and are also highly resistant to most spot cleaning solvents. Because of the very low absorption properties of polyester, soilage will tend to remain on the fiber surface and can usually be removed without vigorous treatment.
The finished fabric would be identified by the Standard Care Label S_W: Use Water-Based or Solvent Cleaner. Spot clean this fabric with a dry-cleaning solvent, mild detergent foam or upholstery shampoo, depending on the stain.
Auralex ProPanel cleaning Tips and Instructions:
Cleaning Dusty ProPanels
- Light vacuuming of ProPanels with an upholstery or drapery attachment will remove
accumulated dust and is also suggested for preventative maintenance.
Cleaning Soiled ProPanels
- Always pretest a cleaning agent on a non-visible part of the fabric first to ensure no damage is done to the fabric or its color. Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for using the cleaning agent.
- Make sure your hands are free from oil or dirt when handling panels, especially if they are light colored and use in a well-ventilated room. Avoid any product which contains Carbon Tetrachloride or other toxic materials.
- Light vacuuming of the fabric with an upholstery or drapery attachment will remove accumulated dust and is also suggested for preventative maintenance.
- Oil or grease spots will respond to mild solvent or dry cleaning agents.
- Avoid excessive brushing or rubbing to prevent fuzzing of the fabric surface.
- For general dirt and grime, sponging with the foam from a mild detergent or upholstery shampoo should remove the accumulated stain. Blot the stain with a clean absorbent cloth dampened with the cleaning solution and work from the outside of the stain to the center. Reapply as necessary.
- Room temperature solution should be sufficient.
- Rinse well with a clean sponge to remove traces of the water-base cleaning agent. Never saturate the fabric with liquid, use a damp sponge or cloth. Too much liquid could damage the glue bond between the fabric and the panel core material.
- Fabric will dry quickly after cleaning/rinsing.
